A new Avengers: Secret Wars fan poster swaps out Jonathan Majors’ Kang for the Fantastic Four’s Doctor Doom as the Multiverse Saga’s final villain.
Fantastic Four’s Doctor Doom is the villain of the upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars in a haunting fan poster. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will soon introduce Reed Richards and his team/ family in Marvel’s Fantastic Four. The movie could also be where one of Marvel Comics’ most feared villains, Doctor Doom, makes his MCU debut. The character has a long history with the Fantastic Four. Doom has appeared in all Fantastic Four live-action films, which points to his MCU debut happening in 2025’s Fantastic Four, just in time for him to steal Kang’s spotlight in 2026’s Avengers: Secret Wars.
On Instagram, @marvels.wolverine shared their depiction of an Avengers: Secret Wars poster with Doctor Doom serving as the main villain against the new Avengers team.
Doom was the main villain of 2015’s Secret Wars event in the pages of Marvel Comics. The character could reprise his role from the comic book storyline in Avengers: Secret Wars, with Kang being revealed to not be the Multiverse Saga’s true villain, and that role belonging to Doom. However, given all the talk from MCU executives about the importance of Majors’ Kang, that scenario is likely not going to happen.
What To Expect From Avengers: Secret Wars
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania might have underperformed at the box office; however, the movie did a solid job of setting up Majors’ Kang as the MCU’s replacement for Thanos. The main Kang variant was seemingly defeated by Ant-Man in the film, but a comic storyline involving the character regrouping and taking the identity of Victor Timely — another Kang variant introduced in one of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s post-credits scenes — might be in play.
The movie’s other post-credits scene introduced the Council of Kangs, a multiversal team of thousands of Kang variants that is likely going to be the main focus of the new Avengers team in 2025’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. The film will have to see a new formation of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes step up to defend the multiverse, with most — if not all — of the MCU’s original Avengers out of the team. While characters like Iron Man and Steve Rogers’ Captain America will likely sit out the film, they could come back to stop the main Kang in the future.
Avengers: Secret Wars is heavily rumored to not only bring back the original Avengers but also include heroes from several Marvel live-action properties, with Marvel Studios allegedly not limiting the movie’s cast to just MCU actors. If the rumors pan out, meetings between Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men with Ioan Gruffudd’s Reed Richards and James McAvoy’s Charles Xavier are possible. Majors’ Kang the Conqueror will likely send the heroes to Battleworld in the movie, meshing universes together and creating a movie even bigger than Endgame with Avengers: Secret Wars.
