The moment of the battle for the surface between the eagle and the cobra was captured by the nature photographer Karthik Raмanurthy in the city of Chennai (India). Karthik said it took him 30 minutes to “bury his feet” in order to record this set of photos.
As a photographer specializing in aʋes photography, Karthik said that witnessing and photographing the Ƅbattle between eagles and poisonous ʋsnakes was his “dream come true”.
The series of photos taken by Karthik show the moment when an eagle pounces on the grass to attack a snake for its food. However, the eagle did not expect it to be a very poisonous cobra and, of course, the poisonous snake did not easily give up to become food for others.
Noticing the resistance of its prey, the eagle stopped its surprise attack, while the cobra raised its head threateningly. The fight stopped for about 2 minutes before continuing.
Karthik said the cobra made the most of its defenses and delivered deadly bites at its predator. However, the eagle also proved to be an excellent predator when it turned its back to Ƅlock the cobra’s bites, causing the snake bites to slither down the eagle’s feathers.
Finally, the fight ended when the aʋe leaped, used its sharp claws to grab the snake, and then used its legs to snap its neck and kill its prey. The poisonous serpent finally suffered the fate of the hunted.
