YouTube digital artist team Corridor Crew recast Keanu Reeves in John Wick with Under Siege star Steven Seagal in a new hilarious parody trailer.
A John Wick parody trailer recasts Keanu Reeves with Above the Law and Under Siege star Steven Seagal. After his car was stolen and beloved puppy killed, retired expert assassin Wick (Reeves) goes on a rampage to exact vengeance on those responsible. The movie proved to be a massive hit, spawning three direct sequel films, a video game, and a comic book tie-in miniseries.
In a challenge to see if the John Wick franchise could survive with any actor other than Reeves, digital effects YouTube channel Corridor Crew recently created a parody trailer replacing the star with Seagal.
After giving a brief recap of Seagal’s career highlights, Corridor Crew uses 10 of his films and edits them with the first three John Wick films. Replacing Wick’s painful loss of his dog with Seagal having his favorite chair demolished, the digital artists deliver a hilarious parody trailer worthy of the action franchise.
What’s Next In The John Wick Franchise
After being left for dead by the High Table, John Wick: Chapter 4 sees the lethal assassin once again seek revenge on all those responsible. Pulling in $402 million at the box office worldwide, more than any of its predecessors, the third sequel proved the franchise has no signs of slowing down. As a result, Lionsgate Films has plans to expand the universe with a possible sequel and spinoff projects.
Originally John Wick: Chapter 5 was to be filmed back-to-back with John Wick: Chapter 4. However, after several rewrites and conversations with Reeves, franchise director Chad Stahelski decided to end Wick’s journey with the fourth film. Despite John Wick: Chapter 4‘s definitive conclusion, Lionsgate Films wants to continue the story with another entry.
Set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, the franchise’s first spinoff movie Ballerina will star Ghosted‘s Ana de Armas as the titular character in another action-packed revenge tale. The 2024 film will also feature Lance Reddick’s final on-screen appearance as Charon after the actor’s untimely death. John Wick also comes to television later this year with The Continental: From the World of John Wick, a miniseries centered on origins of the assassin hotel.
