A whale shark that was wrapped in rope was successfully saved by a brave group of divers. Macana Mᴀʟᴅɪᴠᴇs tour guides Simone Musumeci and Antonio Di Franca were leading a group of tourists on a guided dive in the Mᴀʟᴅɪᴠᴇs’ Fuvahmulah island when they came across soᴍᴇᴛʜing incredible.
Someone shouted “Whale shark!” as the divers gently returned to the boat. Simone then put back his breathing apparatus and began to search the water. He saw a wonderful creature swimming in their direction, its pectoral fins wrapped in a thick rope around its neck.
The giant fish kept swimming and dragged Simone and Antonio across the water as they dove in and began to attempt to cut the line. The shark dragged them down to a depth of roughly fourteen meters while they were holding on to the rope, and it took them about ten minutes to free it, according to Simone.
Once the rope was cut from the shark’s body, a deep wʜɪᴛe mark it had left was visible. The minute the animal managed to break free from the rope, it appeared as though it had recognized its freedom before gently descending into the ocean’s depths.
A short while later, it surfaced again and swam toward them as though in thanks. It was one of the most fantastic times in their lives, according to Simon and his coworkers, so they said they would never forget it.
