The Brazilian legend honored his junior Kylian Mbappe with a witty joke on social networks.
Setting up a super long shot against Croatia to raise the score to 4-1, Kylian Mbappe set a series of milestones. Accordingly, Mbappe became the second U19 player to score in the World Cup final. 60 years ago, in the 1958 World Cup title match, a young player whose real name was Edson Arantes do Nascimento with the nickname Pele scored a brace against Sweden. The football world has to wait for the next 15 World Cups to see the next U19 player do the same thing as Pele, which is to score in the World Cup final.
At the age of U19, only Pele scored more goals than Mbappe at the biggest football festival on the planet. In the 1958 World Cup, Pele had 6 goals, while Mbappe scored 4 goals at this year’s tournament.
Excited at the achievement of his juniors, Pele, the great king, a living monument of world football, wrote on Twitter : “Mbappe is the second U19 player to score in the World Cup final. Welcome family. join this club. It’s nice to have some allies.”
Despite sending congratulations to his juniors, the Brazilian football legend also “threatened” to put his shoes back on the pitch and set some new records, if Mbappe continued to re-establish or break his records.
After about 2 hours of the above tweet, Pele’s account appeared the next tweet with the content: “If Kylian continues to equal my record like this, maybe I will wipe the dust off the competition shoes. fight to get back on the pitch.”
“Talent does not wait for age”, Mbappe makes many famous players overwhelmed. In a television commentary, the famous player Rio Ferdinand suggested: “Hopefully MU pursues Mbappe, he is quite close to Paul Pogba. I think in the next few years, Mbappe will win the Golden Ball title from Cristiano Ronaldo’s hands. and Lionel Messi. It’s easy for him to do that.”
Despite failing to compete for the World Cup Golden Ball title, Mbappe was awarded the “Best Young Player” award. With the current momentum of promotion, Mbappe will probably be a strong candidate for the Ballon d’Or at the 2022 World Cup, as well as the European Ballon d’Or and FIFA’s “The Best” award.
