Mia is here. She is a beautiful puppy with a unique and distinguishing birth defect. She was born with two tails and five legs, which is a very uncommon sight.
Because they were unable to provide the specialized therapy Mia would need, her owners did nothing but care for her.
Mia’s welfare was looked after by Casas Cunas Animal Shelter, which also took in the baby. Despite being only two months old, she will be dewormed because of her large tummy.
She also has two vaginas and two anuses, and Mia will use her two anuses to relieve herself. Her extra paws and tails are located close to her stomach. Mia also has other genetic illnesses.
She needs more accurate x-rays and ultrasounds, which will help doctors determine how to best proceed with the necessary medical procedures. The shelter is currently asking for donations to help with her surgery.
All of the other puppies in Mia’s litter have been adopted and have not suffered from the same disease.
Skipper the puppy was believed to be a twin, but they failed to completely separate, leaving Skipper with six legs, two tails, two pelvic areas, and two reproductive systems at birth, according to a veterinarian at Neel Veterinary Hospital who treated the puppy in 2021.
The same genetic birth defect likely affects Mia as well.
Mia’s first of two operations, which must be performed in 5 days, is tomorrow. A veterinarian has been caring for Mia nonstop.
The puppy is hoped to lead a long life after her most recent report seems promising. It’s difficult and expensive to assist her right now.
Animal activists are attempting to raise money for Mia’s anticipated surgeries by sharing her tale and encouraging others to do the same.
