Parents said that their son was always agitated during pregnancy, so every night they played “Sonata in the Moonlight”, by Beethoven for him to calm down. Check out!
Little Joaquim, who was born last Thursday (2), and his parents, Vitor, 39, and Juliana Cavalcante, 39, from Rio de Janeiro, moved the web with a video that went viral. “Daddy put on a song every day for the baby to sleep inside the belly, and then he was born and decided to do this”, they wrote in the recording. Shortly after delivery, the baby was crying on the mother’s chest. To try to calm his son down, the father took out his cell phone and put on the song he used to play throughout the pregnancy – Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”. As soon as he heard it, the newborn stopped crying.
The clip was the most successful on social networks, reaching more than 200,000 views and 20,000 likes on TikTok. In the more than 300 comments, netizens were moved by the scene. “You made my day, how beautiful!” wrote one user. “Man, 7:38 am and I’m crying,” said another. There were still several parents who identified with the video and said they also had the same habit of putting on music for the baby, like Vitor and Juliana.
“I’ve always really liked music, especially instrumental music. We researched and found that from the fifth month of pregnancy onward, the baby can already hear, even inside the belly, and music can bring many benefits for development “, says Vitor. The parents say that Joaquim was always a little agitated during the pregnancy, but they noticed that when he played some music, he moved even more.
“Once I put on a samba by Mangueira, and it moved a lot. Another time, our neighbor put Roberto Carlos on and Joca loved it, he moved it a lot too”, he recalls. At night, when Joaquim was more agitated, the parents decided to put on a quieter song to see if he relaxed, as they noticed that he was responding well to the music.
“I started experimenting with classical music. One night, I put on Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight Sonata’, and right away it worked great. It has become a ritual. At night I said, ‘Son, let’s go to sleep now,’ and then I put the music on [to play] and put my hand on her belly. He stretched, made a high volume in the belly, and then lowered, he was quiet”, recalls Vitor. They repeated this habit every night until delivery.
@fotografadeparto O pai se emocionou tanto ao colocar a mesma musica que acalmava o baby na barriga, e não é que ele acalmou quando nasceu tambem, essa foi a reação do pai. #papai #superpai #superdaddy #nascimentohumanizado ♬ Dandelions – Ruth B.

The arrival of a child into the world is always a very special moment for any parent, but for Vitor and Juliana, it was even more exciting. “We prepared a lot to have this baby. The pregnancy was very desired. Many doctors had already said that we would not be able to get pregnant, our diagnosis was infertility “, recalls Juliana. At age 39, the only option was in vitro fertilization (IVF). “We were heading towards that when, spontaneously, we got Joca’s positive. So, during the birth, we cried and got very emotional”, she says.
The mother says that she had to undergo an emergency cesarean section because she was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes at the end of her pregnancy.
Despite the scare, everything went well. “It was very smooth, our medical team is sensational, they acted very quickly and saved our lives”, she points out. So when the little one was born, emotions were even more on the surface. “When he came, it was a spectacular moment. They put Joca on Juliana’s chest, and when I first spoke to him, he recognized my voice but started crying again. But we remembered his song, and I put it on to play. At the time, he stopped and slept”, says Vitor.
