Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry had some words for Phoenix Suns point guard Chris Paul.
Even without the likes of Kevin Durant, stars filled the lineup for the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors in their final matchup of the 2022-23 regular season.
Players such as Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Devin Booker and Chris Paul were just a few names to take the court in a matchup of Pacific Division powers.
Each meeting between the two teams is normally good for a memorable moment or two. Monday night was no different.
Golden State reached up to a 25-point lead over Phoenix in the first half of action. Curry and Thompson combined for 48 points in the first two quarters of play, the highest total between the splash bros in a half this season.
Typically when Golden State-Phoenix meet, Thompson and Booker are the ones exchanging extra words after the whistle.
Curry – who has been known to speak up on occasion – shared some words for Paul when the Warriors were in full control on Monday: “This ain’t 2014 no more.”
Both point guards are set to enter the Hall of Fame upon their retirement, as Paul is considered to be one of the best floor generals of his generation while Curry is widely regarded to be the best shooter in NBA history.
Though Paul has collected his own accolades during his strong tenure in the league, he’s still chasing after that coveted championship ring – something Curry has done on four different occasions.
Paul is hoping the addition of Durant (who won two with Curry and the Warriors) will be the final piece to Phoenix’s puzzle.
