A few months ago Dacia introduced a new crossover Bigster.
This car should be the flagship for the Romanian brand. Now it became known that the new Dacia Bigster will hit the market in 2022.
At the same time declassified prices and characteristics of the crossover.
The basis for this Romanian model is familiar CMF-B platform. Dacia reported that the length of the new Bigster reaches 4,600 mm, which makes it the largest crossover of the Romanian brand.
At the same time the manufacturer did not say whether this model will be available in seven-seat version.
Nevertheless, the Romanian crossover will offer a spacious interior, which will please family motorists.
The choice of buyers of Bigster will be offered quite a wide range of engines, including different types of power units.
However, given the fact that the car will be relatively large, Dacia is unlikely to equip it with a supercharged liter engine, which today develops up to 64 hp.
Probably, the given unit completed with a turbine, will appear in the base version of the crossover. In this case, the maximum power of the motor reaches 89 hp. For extra charge a 1.3-liter turbo unit developing up to 128 hp will be available.
Sales of the new Dacia-branded Bigster crossover are promised to launch in the first half of 2022.
According to Auto Express, the new crossover will compete in the same segment as the Volkswagen Tiguan.
Thus Dacia Bigster will be 20% cheaper than its «colleague» despite the claimed hybrid technology.
The new big crossover will reach 4.6 meters in length, which is larger than the size of the VW Tiguan.
It is not reported whether there will be a seven-seat modification. Probably not, as there is already a three-row van Jogger in the lineup of the brand.
A basic motor for a novelty can be a liter 90-horsepower variant. A 1,3-liter «turbo four» Renault will become an alternative.
It is clear that the cross with such motor will cost more. Over time, buyers will be able to buy a hybrid Bigster as well.
Most likely, the hybrid powertrain will be based on a 1.6-liter motor, as on the Clio E-Tech.
Power of such eco-friendly power plant can make 140 hp.
It is not excluded that Dacia will want to adapt an absolutely new unit built on a 1.2-liter turbo motor for the Parkett.
Predicted return here — up to 200 hp.
As for prices, the Diacia Bigster can cost 5 thousand pounds cheaper than VW Tiguan on the British market.
It means that the novelty can cost 20 thousand pounds (about 2 million rubles).
The platform of the new low-cost crossover will be borrowed from the Duster — it is the well-known CMF-B architecture, on which all the new Ladas are going to be built.
Dacia representatives earlier hinted that the new Bigster will also be equipped with a hybrid unit.
Probably, its basis will consist of a 1.6-liter engine, which in combination with the electric motor produces up to 138 hp.
The Bigster with a hybrid unit will not be released before 2023. In addition, the engine range will be replenished with engines that run on liquefied gas.
We do not exclude the appearance of a new hybrid unit on the Bigster with a 1.2-liter motor at the core, which is scheduled to debut in 2022. Its combined output reaches 200 hp.
According to rumors, the price for the Romanian novelty on the British market will not exceed 20 thousand pounds sterling (less than two million rubles). That is, in Europe the Bigster will be sold for about 1.5 million rubles.
