During the winter months, Potter County is widely considered one of the best counties to snowmobile in all of PA. Access miles of groomed and ungroomed trails (depending on experience level) at the Potter County Snowmobile Club located 1.3 miles up the street from the cabin. There is a 5-gallon water dispenser that shall be supplied for drinking water. Shower and toilet water are provided via the 500-gallon water catch system. Heat is provided by electric heat or wood burning stove. Firewood is provided on the back porch and stacked in the metal wood frame. Additional wood can be provided for a fee.

Once down the mountain switchbacks, it is a short 5-minute drive to the town of Coudersport where there are restaurants, fuel, a grocery store, and entertainment. Additionally, there are many state parks to visit, Cherry Springs, Patterson State Park, Denton Hill State Park, Susquehannock State Park, Prouty Place State Park, Lyman Run State Park, and Sinnemahoning State Park. Ole Bull State Park, and Tioga State Forest. Stop by the Coudersport Ice Mine or the PA Lumber Museum after mini golf or ice cream at Gary’s Putter Golf and Jiffy Pup Restaurant. Summit Trails isn’t far if horseback riding is your adventure of choice. Elk is 20 minutes south in Austin, Pennsylvania. There is 1 mile of switchbacks up to the cabin and snow/ice conditions make the cabin road unsafe for trucks and SUVs. There is a flat area at the base of the mountain to park a truck and utility trailer. The Potter County Snowmobile Club is less than 2 miles away.
