John Wick: Chapter 4 is going bigger — and longer — than ever before.
According to Collider, the newest installment to the gun-fu Keanu Reeves action franchise will be the longest film in the series, clocking in at a total runtime of 2 hours and 49 minutes with credits.
The film, which will hit theaters on March 24th (or March 23rd in Australia/NZ), promises to use that runtime to take the action to never-before-seen heights. Considering this franchise has given us night club shootouts, knife-throwing extravaganzas, ninjas on motorcycles and Halle Berry fighting alongside two vicious dogs, John Wick 4 is setting up to be something truly unreal.
“John Wick: Chapter 4 has the most action of any of the [John Wick] films, which is saying a lot,” Reeves previously told Total Film. “And it’s more by a good margin. It’s a big show.”
Throughout the franchise, each installment has gotten longer since the original John Wick came out in 2014. That movie sits at a runtime of 101 minutes. The second film took the series international and ran at 122 minutes, while the third clocked in at 131 minutes. Now, the pattern of “bigger and longer” will continue.
John Wick 4: The Cast of the Action Sequel
John Wick: Chapter 4 picks up where the third film left off, with a nearly-dead Wick vowing to get revenge against The High Table after their murderous campaign to destroy him fails. With Winston and the Continental seemingly betraying our favorite deadly dog lover, Wick is now in full-blown vengeance mode. His chance at freedom, though, is imperiled by a new enemy with global allies – and by old friends turned foes.
Alongside Reeves, the new film will see the return of Laurence Fishburne (The Bowery King), Lance Reddick (Charon), and Ian McShane (Winston Scott). Donnie Yen, martial arts movie legend known for roles in films like Ip Man and Rogue One, is joining the series as Caine, a new antagonist for Wick to square off against. Also joining the cast is Bill Skarsgård as Marquis, Hiroyuki Sanada as Shimazu, Shamier Anderson as Tracker, singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama as Akira, Scott Adkins as Killa, Clancy Brown as The Harbinger, Marko Zaror as Chidi, and Natalia Tena as Katia.

The sequel will also see the return of stuntman-turned-director Chad Stahelski, who has helmed all three of the previous films. Stahelski’s directorial career has taken off dramatically since the success of the franchise. Currently, Stahelski is attached to the film adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima, the widely revered action-adventure game from 2020.
