If Graham Potter is unable to turn results around Chelsea will move for former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique, who is a free agent after quitting his role as Spain boss after the World Cup

Chelsea are lining up a move for Luis Enrique should Graham Potter get the chop in the coming months.
The Blues have been struggling all season despite back-to-back mammoth spending sprees in the last couple of transfer windows and are currently treading water in mid-table.
It’s understood that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is happy putting his long-term vision for the club in Potter’s hands, but if on-field results don’t improve then he could be forced to sack the former Brighton manager.
Should that happen, Spanish outlet Fichajes Chelsea will go after Enrique, who resigned as manager of Spain following their disappointing showing at the 2022 World Cup.
The Spaniard is open to the idea of joining Chelsea, although recent reports in Spain assert that Atletico Madrid will provide stiff competition for his signature should long-term manager Diego Simeone leave the club at the end of the season.
Despite Spain’s poor performance in Qatar, Enrique was lauded for leading his young side to the semi-finals of Euro 2020, where they narrowly beaten on penalties by eventual winners Italy.

He won the treble with Barcelona in 2015 and has the highest win percentage of any manager in the club’s history, at 76%.
As mentioned previously, Potter is expected to remain in charge of the Blues for the time being, but when you’re not producing results after £550m worth of players are poured into your lap, prioritising ‘long-term’ goals gets a little tricky.
