Musical artist and actress Selena Gomez celebrated her 30th birthday in July 2022, and after having a birthday party, she went on vacation in Italy with friends—including one with whom she sparked dating rumors—to celebrate more. On Wednesday, August 4, The Daily Mail shared photos of Gomez on a yacht in Positano with her buddies, including Italian-Canadian film producer Andrea Iervolino, who emerged as a rumored love interest in media coverage of her trip.
Gomez and Iervolino have been linked together in the past, with hints that they are more than friends, but it has never been confirmed that they are dating. In fact, a source recently told Entertainment Tonight that Gomez is single.
“Selena isn’t dating anyone specific at this time,” the source said. “She is more open to love, but she is also very much focused on herself and her work right now. She’s in a very healthy place. She is feeling fantastic and very mentally, physically and emotionally healthy.”
On August 17, a source reiterated this to Us Weekly, outright denying she and Iervolino were dating. “Selena and Andrea are just friends,” the source said. “She’s dating and is keeping her options open with a few guys.”
However, she and Iervolino did spend a lot of time during her Italian birthday party dancing together and hugging while looking out at the water. Iervolino even gave Gomez a couple of kisses on her forehead, which could just be a platonic sign of affection.
