Dwayne Johnson has enjoyed some really hilarious banter with his Hollywood co-stars over the years during interviews and movie promotions. His interactions with Kevin Hart are funny and have become something that fans always look forward to.
The Rock known for his witty replies since his WWE days often catches his co-stars off guard. But this one time, DJ was stumped after a sharp retort by a popular actress.
Apart from Hart, Johnson has also forged a close friendship with his Jungle Cruise co-star and British actress Emily Blunt. During the promotion of their 2021 adventure comedy, the two actors did many interviews, which brought out their bond and made for some amusing banter.
This was the case when they sat down for an interview on The One Show and Blunt was asked about The Rock’s presidential bid.
Blunt left Dwayne Johnson speechless
In 2016, Dwayne Johnson said he wouldn’t rule himself out of the running for the next elections after business tycoon Donald Trump came to power despite no previous political experience. Since then, The Great One has gone back and forth over his desire to run for the White House hot seat. In fact, in 2021 46% of Americans voted in favor of a presidential run from The Rock.
This was a really hot topic and was brought up again when Emily Blunt joined The Brahma Bull in an interview on The One Show in 2021. The two were promoting the Jungle Cruise film when the host presented a fan question about The Rock’s bid for elections.
The question was, is The Rock running for President? Before he could answer, Blunt quipped, “I hope not.” This prompted laughter from the hosts as well as DJ himself. When asked to comment on Blunt’s witty remark, The Rock said he had nothing to say.
Johnson appreciated Blunt’s sharp answer, to which she said it was “quick and cruel.” DJ further said I have nothing to add. No. How do I follow that? That’s impossible. Where do I go? Well sure, let me pontificate about Presidency a little bit. No, I can’t go anywhere after that.” Blunt’s brilliant response showed that even the best of the talkers can be left with nothing much to say sometimes.
This was another example of the hilarious banter between the $80 million worth British actress and The Rock. The two have grown fond of each other to the extent that fans compare their friendship to Rock’s relationship with Hart.
Although Emily Blunt wasn’t too keen on the former WWE Champion running for President, he did find support from his other co-stars once. His colleagues from the 2017 movie Baywatch film said he would be the “perfect candidate” and a “leader”
The Rock has given mixed signals about his desire to run for the office. Last year in an interview with CBS Sunday, he said that this prospect was “off the table”. He cited his desire to spend more time with his family as the reason for his decision.
Then in an interview with CNN, he said that he hasn’t entirely shut the door on an election run. If The Rock does indeed choose to go for the presidency, it will be a fascinating run. His popularity means he would have a strong chance of succeeding if he were to take that route.
