The Whippoorwill Ridge is a hand-hewn log cabin nestled in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky. The log cabin features a gorgeous hand-built fireplace and chimney of sandstone which was quarried nearby. There is one bedroom and a loft area partially overlooking the living room. There is a passageway, but no door between the bedroom and the loft area. The loft area has a queen size bed and a small balcony which is ideal for watching the sunset. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room, and the kitchen is fully equipped.
The large wraparound porch is an ideal gathering place, especially during rain. There is a fire ring in the backyard and even a wood shed if you get mesmerized by the fire and the weather changes. Soak in the hot tub after a hike around the Gorge. The cabin is just 25 minutes from Natural Bridge and the Red River Gorge Geological Area. Enjoy the beauty of the area on a drive or a hike and come back to a cozy evening in the log cabin. Pets are allowed with an additional fee, you’ll want to note that pets must be accompanied at all times or crated if left in the cabin alone.
