This is the shocking moment a toddler is seen playing with a giant python snake in East Java, Indonesia.
Evidently blissfully unaware of the danger, the boy is seen using the large reptile’s curled-up body as an armchair.
As the serpent begins to slither away, the laughing child lays down to ‘surf’ on its moving body.

The supervising adults filming the incident, who are thought to be the toddler’s parents, can be heard laughing in the background and do not intervene as the boy runs after the snake.
He is then seen playing with the snake’s head, and even tries to lift it by the neck.
The reptile in the video is thought to be a reticulated python, one of the world’s longest and heaviest snakes.
The reticulated python is non-venomous, but has been known to kill humans, with the serpent being able to open its jaws wide enough to swallow a person.

As recently as June this year, the body of a 54-year-old woman was cut from the stomach of a 27ft python in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia, having been swallowed whole.
The woman’s dead body was still fully clothed when she was removed from the serpent’s belly.
Her fate was uncovered by her own children, who had become suspicious after finding an enormous snake with a protruding belly after their mother went missing in the area.
