She’s risen from Neighbours starlet to Oscar-nominated actress.
But there still appears to be plenty we don’t know about I, Tonya star Margot Robbie, 28.
Juxtaposed against her girl next door image, it appears the 28-year-old was actually a childhood fan of death metal bands including Bullet for My Valentine and Slipknot.
‘You are f**king kidding me!’ Oscar nominated actress Margot Robbie, 28, has revealed she was a childhood fan of death metal music while being interviewed on BBC Radio1
Appearing on BBC radio 1’s Heart Rate Monitor, the Focus actress made the admission before being surprised by Valentine singer Matthew Tuck and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.
‘When I was younger, I was really into Metallica,’ she started.
I went to a Slipknot concert when I was younger … I was into Thrice, Bullet For My Valentine, I loved them back in the day,’ she told host, Nick Grimshaw, during the segment about music.
As a gimmick for the show, guests have their heart rate monitored during the interview.
‘Oh My God,’ the actress was surprised by Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matthew Tuck dedicating a song to her before playing to a 15,000 strong crowd at a gig in Saskatoon, Canada
It then cuts to Margot being shown footage of Matthew Tuck at one of Bullet For My Valentine’s 15,000 people-strong gigs in Saskatoon, Canada.
‘The next song we’re going to play is dedicated to a very special, very beautiful, talented young woman,’ he starts with the actress watching on, on an iPad.
‘What? No,’ she says in disbelief, ‘You are f**king kidding me!’
‘Heard you were a massive fan’: Just as the interview was ending, she got another person message from Corey Taylor of band, Slipknot
The band’s singer continued: ‘You will all know her from such Hollywood blockbusters … make some noise for the amazing Margot Robbie…This one’s for you’
‘Oh my God,’ Margot screams, with her heart rate hovering at 123.
‘I can’t believe that just happened,’ she added, grabbing onto her hair with excitement, her heart rate jumping to 134.
‘Oh my God, I’m dying. I can’t believe you arranged that. Thank you. I’m honestly so touched, I can’t tell you.’
In the interview, Margot is also gifted with a packet of Tim-Tams, along with a cup of coffee with the host and herself arguing about which is better, Penguin biscuits or Tim-Tams.
That’s when she gets a second surprise when she is shown another video.
‘Hi Margot, its Corey from Slipknot,’ Corey Taylor starts.
With a half-eaten Tim Tam in her mouth, it seems the actress then tries to say an expletive while her heart rate is rising.
‘Heard you were a massive fan, heard you came to see Slipknot a long time ago…’
Corey then congratulates her on her success and invites her to one of the band’s upcoming gigs.
‘I can’t believe this,’ she said, grabbing her hair again. ‘My favourite person in the world, holy s**t.
‘I can’t believe this is happening … A great morning.’
Shock! It might actually be a shock to fans that girl-next-door Margot was such a fan of the death metal bands
