Number Twenty

Number Nineteen

This season’s Nike kit isn’t the best, but it’s comfortable ahead of efforts from the likes of Warrior and Reebok, so scrapes into our top 20.

The 90s were hard on Liverpool and the kits followed suit, but this effort in 1995 is one of the best efforts from that decade.

Liverpool’s best kit of the 90s was Adidas’ last strip before the switchover to Reebok.

2. 2001-03 Reebok Europe kit

It’s not technically an official LFC home kit but Reebok’s Champions League special edition shirt the Reds wore on their return to the competition in 2001/02 might be their best effort.

Adidas went bold with the stripes over the should in the early 90s, and the kit now has a great retro look. One that has got better with time.

Liverpool won the European Cup for the first time in 1977 as Umbro introduced a touch of yellow – and class – to the home shirt.

Number Eight

Liverpool won their first league title in 30 years looking good in a retro New Balance number in 2019/20

Liverpool conquered Rome in a beautiful pinstripe number made by Umbro in 1984. This kit has inspired many other Liverpool shirts since.

Adidas made subtle changes to their 1986/87 effort but with excellent results. Another beauty.

Liverpool were the first team to sport a sponsor with Hitachi in the late 70s and early 80s. The kit, made by Umbro, was much better than the haircuts.

Adidas and Liverpool were a match made in heaven in the 1980s. The 1985/86 kit was a beauty.
