Devin Booker is continuing his incredible playoff form after scoring 36 points with 12 assists against the Denver Nuggets in a crucial Game 4 win.
Nikola Jokic had the best individual performance of the night with his 53 points and 11 assists, which got Booker to compliment him after the game. It didn’t come without some shade, as Booker said Jokic can take the 50 while he can take the win.
“It’s a tough matchup. He’s either scoring or he’s getting his teammates involved, or both, Every possession we’re trying to make it hard on him. He can have 50 all he wants as long as we get the win.”
The Suns doubled down on the strategy of making the players around Jokic on the Nuggets beat them. Even though Jamal Murray had a strong 28-point outing, a rough night from Michael Porter Jr. ultimately made the difference for Denver. They were scoring at a terrific pace but ultimately couldn’t get enough stops on Booker and Kevin Durant for the win.
The Sun Is Rising Over the Rockies In This Series
Even though many assumed they’d be dead and buried, the Suns have come right back into this series by tying it up 2-2. Home teams have a 100% record so far this series, so Denver may still have the upper hand in the series. From a momentum perspective, the Nuggets just went through a really deflating loss that won’t be easy to recover from.
Denver’s high-altitude home advantage makes them one of the most dangerous home-court teams in the NBA. They are undefeated at home and will hope to continue that in Game 5. It’s essentially a best-of-three series at this point, with the final game taking place in Denver. If the Suns can steal a win in Game 5, this series might be over and they’ll be advancing to the Conference Finals.
