It’s no secret that Jennifer Lopez has a fondness for a vertiginous shoe. Whether she’s in white leather Gucci Angel pumps as she boards a jet with her husband, or in teetering Aquazzura sandals while out and about in Beverly Hills, the star can’t get enough of dangerously high heels. But for a recent outing in New York, J.Lo took her shoe game to even more extreme heights.
Her transparent platforms could have been lifted straight out of the wardrobe of her Hustlers character Ramona Vega (Lopez’s performance as the savvy veteran stripper in the 2022 film earned her a Golden Globe nomination). Designed by Valentino Garavani, the Tan-Go pumps are crafted out of clear polymer with a patent leather trim and feature a see-through plexi platform heel. As for the rest of J.Lo’s look? A distinctly un-stripper-like taupe blazer tucked into a tiered feather midi-skirt, along with aviator shades, a gray crystal-encrusted shoulder bag, and diamond jewelry.
Previously, the multihyphenate has been spotted wearing myriad versions of the Tan-Go pumps. For her Christmas day Instagram post last year, Lopez wore a festive crimson pair complete with ankle straps. She chose a cream pair to attend the Shotgun Wedding after-party earlier this year, along with a striking haute couture dress fresh from the Valentino autumn-winter 2022 runway. Even on a casual day out in Los Angeles, the star has been spotted rocking the shoes with jeans and a blouse. The verdict? J.Lo has discovered her all-time favorite platforms.
