The model, a mother of 3, talks about the problems of new mothers on Instagram.
Ashley Graham became an encore mother in January by welcoming the twins Malachi and Roman after having her firstborn, Isaac. The model is defying the tiredness typical of new mothers to ensure that the two newborns have all the love and milk they need.
The 34-year-old shared a selfie on Instagram on Friday while she was intent on breastfeeding the two little ones in tandem. “Tired. but we’re here,” she wrote, accompanying the snap.
The supermodel and her husband, Justin Ervin, welcomed their two children on Jan. 7, and Ashley has never hidden the struggles of being a mom of 3 on social media, including her issues with breastfeeding.
Graham just last month said she learned to tandem feed his boys, not without discomfort. The operation takes “a few weeks of trial and error” and “many tears” before the two begin to bond properly.
The model shared a snap to her Instagram Stories, showing her ‘normal breastfeeding position’, sitting in a chair with both babies spread across her. Ashley was already mom to Isaac when she gave birth to the twins, but while breastfeeding with the firstborn was easy, requiring only “a day or two”, the same was not the case for the newcomers.
In a recent interview, Graham was candid about the aftermath of pregnancy that every woman goes through but doesn’t share. For example, “how your body changes when you’re pregnant, and the stretch marks and the loose skin, the formula, the breastfeeding,” she shares.
Graham also adds the factor of how people tell you to feed your child. She is emphatic in her message that every mother has the right to choose whether breastfeeding is right for her, regardless of society’s expectations.
