While wandering foraging in the grasslands, a wildebeest caught sight of the male lion.
Thanks to its superior strength, it easily knocks its prey to the ground and bites the victim’s throat. At this point, death is only a matter of time for antelope. However, the antelope did not lie down to die, but immediately stood up to protest. From the dominant hunter, the lion has been brought down by the prey.
After a fierce struggle, the wildebeest escaped the lion’s control and made a spectacular escape. In order to get rid of his prey, the male lion swam away after a tiring fight.
Wildebeest has the scientific name of Connochaetes, they are herbivores, often living in herds on the large African savannah and are relatively gentle. These animals often live in large herds, in many cases they even pair with zebra herds to create a strong community, thereby reducing the risk of being hunted by predators.
According to the statistics of zoologists, the success rate of survival from birth to adulthood of wildebeest is very low. It is estimated that only 1 in 6 wildebeest survive beyond the first year of life.
The rare weapon that the wildebeest is equipped with by “mother nature” is the horns. Thanks to these horns, wildebeest can choose to attack to defend themselves, instead of running away like other herbivores. Besides, thanks to the large number of wildebeest, the wildebeest also scare the hunters.
