After hearing the tot speak refuse collector Dave, 30, immediately grabbed his camera and eventually prompted her to repeat herself.
The 30-year-old from Salisbury, Wilts said: “It was quite a shock.”
Wife Samantha, 28, added: “I literally walked past her one day while she was in her bouncy chair and she said ‘hello’.
“I couldn’t believe it.”
The couple now have hopes for their third child – who they think is destined to be a wordsmith.
Dave continued: “Our other two took a lot longer but she just came out with it after six weeks.”
“I think she’ll be a quick learner.”
The couple have two other children – Gerrard, four, and Alfie, three.
Charlotte – now aged eight weeks – was born on September 24, weighing 6lbs 11oz, at Salisbury District Hospital.
Samantha, a full-time mum, said she wanted to share the video after seeing other baby videos and realising that Charlotte was by far the cleverest.

She added: “She says it all the time now. She’s my third child – they say they get quicker as they go on but I didn’t think she would be this quick!”
“She’s definitely going to be a chatty one.”
Babies generally utter their first words at around the age of one. They will start putting sentences together over the subsequent six months.
