Manchester United have learned the teams awaiting them in the Europa League last eight after beating Real Betis, as Erik ten Hag eyes a second trophy in a season
Manchester United will play Sevilla in the quarter-finals of the Europa League after the draw mapped out the route Erik ten Hag’s side will have to take if they are claim a second piece of silverware this season.
United reached the last eight of Europe’s secondary club competition by easing past Real Betis 5-1 on aggregate following their 1-0 win in Spain on Thursday night. Marcus Rashford scored the game’s only goal to seal progression after a dominant performance in the first leg at Old Trafford last week.
Their reward is a a third straight knockout tie against a Spanish club, with a two-legged tie against six-time winners Sevilla waiting. It will be played on April 13 and 20. If they get past them then the winner of Juventus vs Sporting will be waiting into the semi-finals on May 11 and 18.

United are the only English side left in the competition after Arsenal were beaten on penalties by Sporting on Thursday night. The Gunners were held to a 1-1 draw in north London as the tie finished 3-3 on aggregate, before Gabriel Martinelli’s saved spot-kick proved costly.
United came through Group E in the early stages of the Europa League after picking up five wins from six games against Real Sociedad, FC Sheriff and Omonoia. They then had to overcome heavyweights Barcelona in the first knockout round.
