Kevin Durant Agrees With Damian Lillard Criticizing Ring Culture: “I Love The NBA Brotherhood…”

An NBA championship is extremely difficult to win, and the majority of players in the league never win a championship. One’s team truly has to be elite for that to happen, and of course, every championship requires a degree of luck.

Though championships are important, they are far from the only way a player’s career should be judged. Recently, we saw Damian Lillard criticize “ring culture” claiming that there needs to be more respect for the “journey”. Kevin Durant reacted to a video of Lillard’s criticism, seemingly agreeing with the point guard, and stating that he loves the “NBA brotherhood” even beyond the competition.

Kevin Durant has won two championships with the Golden State Warriors, and for him to agree with Damian Lillard speaks volumes. Championships are important, but there are a lot of league legends that have never won a ring.

Currently, Kevin Durant is putting up 26.7 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 3.7 APG during his time with the Phoenix Suns. There is no doubt that the team got him to go all-in and try to win a championship, and we’ll see whether that will happen this year.

Kevin Durant Knows That The Phoenix Suns Have Enough To Win A Championship

After Kevin Durant got traded to the Phoenix Suns, many suggested that they could end up coming out of the Western Conference. They have an elite duo of scorers in Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, as well as solid complementary pieces such as Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, and Terrence Ross.

In fact, previously, we saw Kevin Durant say that the team has all the pieces to be successful. Durant clearly recognizes that the team’s talent level is off the chart, and it would be no surprise to see them win a championship this year when healthy.

Phoenix Suns: 3 bold predictions after blockbuster trade for Kevin Durant

“We’ve got all the pieces to be successful,” Durant said.

Of course, Kevin Durant recently getting sidelined with an ankle injury means that the Phoenix Suns will have less time to gel and develop chemistry ahead of the playoffs. That being said, the priority should be to get Kevin Durant fully healthy and fresh for the postseason, which is exactly what the Phoenix Suns are doing.

It remains to be seen how far the Phoenix Suns will get this year. The Western Conference is less competitive this year than in past years, and perhaps that can result in a deep Suns run this postseason.
