Striker Marcus Rashford was heavily criticized for “falling over rudely” in Man United’s goalless draw with bottom team Southampton.
Rashford deserves a favorable 2022/2023 season. MU’s striker is even considered by many to have the most impressive scoring performance in the world. In the recent Europa League victory over Betis, Rashford also scored and extended his scoring streak with 26 goals in all competitions for Man United.
However, on Sunday (March 12), the 25-year-old player was completely silent at Old Trafford, causing the home team to be held 0-0 by Southampton.
It was a bad day for Man Utd when an important link in midfield, Casemiro, received a direct red card and received a suspension for the next 4 matches. And Alejandro Garnacho after the match also had to use crutches.
However, perhaps it is Rashford who suffers the greatest shame. From being a potential candidate for the Ballon d’Or, this player suddenly became “hot” on social media for the Fallon d’Floor nomination, the award for the most vulgar player. Although there did not appear to be any contact with the opponent’s goalkeeper, the MU striker measured the floor in the penalty area.
One fan commented: “Look at the way Rashford tries to earn a penalty, shameful. The referee should have given him a yellow card.”
“I would classify it as one of the grossest blunders,” the second man scoffed.
The third person is probably a Liverpool fan who envisions: “If this is Mo Salah, the media will not leave it alone”.
Another opinion: “No one condemns this? Rashford is a media darling.”
“It’s unbelievable that world-class players would do such a senseless and shameful thing. But I’m sure Dr. Rashford won’t do an essay on this,” lamented the fifth.
Another said: “Does he think he can fool a blind man? Honestly, Rashford did a shameful act.”
Meanwhile, many MU fans confirmed it was a penalty: “I’ve seen the goalkeeper’s knee touch Rashford … even a light touch is still a penalty. Where is VAR?”.
And another added: “Rashford should have been awarded the penalty. We all saw his foot clamped.”
