Kevin Durant injury: would play if playoffs started today

Kevin Durant would play for the Phoenix Suns if the situation required that, Suns GM James Jones revealed.

Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, who is dealing with an ankle sprain, would be available for the team if the NBA Playoffs started today.

“If the playoffs started today, he’d be out there,” Suns president of basketball operations and general manager James Jones said, via Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic. “He’d be struggling a little bit.”

KD rolled his ankle when slipping on the floor during pre-game warmups last Wednesday night and will be re-evaluated in three weeks, the team announced Thursday evening.

Durant is expected to be fully fit when Phoenix will have just five more games until the end of the regular season.

Since being acquired from the Brooklyn Nets, the 13-time All-Star has been able to play in only three games for the Suns, averaging 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per contest.

With 37 wins and 30 losses, Phoenix is currently fourth in the Western Conference.
