Because he was engrossed in following the call of fame and money, Philippe Coutinho had to pay the price. The Brazilian midfielder faces a bleak future.
On a winter day in 2018, Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp told Coutinho: “Stay here. We will make you one of the symbols of the club’s glory. Leave this place for Barca, Bayern or Barcelona. Real, you will be just a regular player in the squad.”
The Brazilian midfielder ignored the advice of the German teacher. He was determined to leave Anfield to find Barca. Previously, the former Inter star was said to have rebellious actions, when he repeatedly applied to pressure the leadership to sell him to the representative of Catalonia.

“The Kop” must release Coutinho, who is no longer interested in the English port city. The 27-year-old star arrived at Camp Nou for 120 million euros. Initially, things were very bright for the South American midfielder. He integrates quickly with his teammates. However, things have been gray since summer 2018.
Coutinho is not used by the club. He is also not a favorite face of cules. Having failed at Camp Nou, Philippe tried his luck in Munich, where Bayern dominated Germany. Despite great efforts, things are still not bright for the talented attacking player of world football.
On January 22, Bild newspaper said that “Gray Lobster” did not activate the clause to buy Coutinho permanently in the summer of 2020. Thus, Philippe is likely to be returned to Barca by the club, the land no longer needs him, after only 1 five kicks for Bayern. Having rebelled to leave, Coutinho finally received a bitter end.
Since Coutinho left Liverpool, Barca has not won the Champions League title. In the 2018/19 season, they were eliminated by “The Kop” from the European Cup in the semi-finals. Liverpool also became champions after that.
Klopp once said: “Staying at Liverpool, Coutinho can become a legend”. However, the Brazilian midfielder could not resist the attraction from Barca and then received the appropriate lesson. Barca turned down Coutinho because his statistics were not worth the money the club invested in.
After two years with the Catalan representative, Coutinho scored 21 goals in 76 appearances. That’s not a bad number. However, Barca wants more in this expensive contract. Going to Munich, Coutinho could not convince the club to see that they need to buy him outright.
On all fronts in the 2019/20 season, Coutinho scored 7 goals and provided 7 assists. He is currently the club’s third-highest scorer, behind only Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry. He is also behind Thomas Mueller and Gnabry in the ability to clear the table for teammates to score.

Coutinho’s statistics at Bayern are said to be not impressive enough for the club to spend 120 million euros to buy him outright. Faith Media Philippe lacks the explosive moments and the talent that sets it apart from the rest to help “Gray Lobster” solve any problems in attack.
Coutinho is good, but not qualified enough to compete with world-class names like Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Echoes of the past also show that Bayern do not often trigger blockbusters in the transfer market. This easily breaks the club’s financial structure.
At the Allianz Stadium, Lewandowski is the impregnable player. The influence “Lewy” creates is huge. Without him, Bayern lost itself. Coutinho failed to do this, despite his best efforts. Even Gnabry is placed above Coutinho in terms of status at Bayern.
Everything changed so quickly for Coutinho. Had he stayed at Anfield, he would have been a star and on his way to becoming a club legend. Philippe chose a different direction, then most likely had to find a new club in the summer of 2020.
That’s when Liverpool can celebrate the Premier League title.
