The MCU is starting to shake things up by adding in lesser-known Marvel stories, which certainly bodes well for the media company. One of those lesser-known stories is about Nomad. Through our trusted and proven sources, we can report that Marvel will tackle Captain America taking on the Nomad moniker, and Robert Downey Jr will also return as Iron Man for this new limited series.
For those who may not be familiar with the Nomad series, it follows Captain America, who finds out that the President of the United States is part of the villainous Secret Empire. Captain America sheds his name and becomes Nomad, as he cannot support America when finding out about this dark secret. However, Robert Downer Jr will be returning to a Nomad series with a different spin, as the series will follow Captain America as he travels back in time to return to the Infinity Stones.
Avengers: Endgame saw Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark develop time-traveling technology that sent the Avengers back in time to rewrite the wrongs that happened when Thanos snapped half the world out of existence. However, Stark then took on the Infinity Stones and snapped Thanos and his army out of existence, ending his life. With the Infinity Stones still presumably in possession of the Avengers, Steve Rogers will travel back in time to hide them once again.
It is interesting that Robert Downey Jr is returning for this limited series, considering his character is now dead. However, with that time-traveling technology still in place, Steve Rogers might be running into Tony Stark at some point in the past. Also, could this mean that Vision is now going to be returning?
Vision was created by the Mind Stone and JARVIS before the stone was ripped from his face by Thanos. So, if Steve Rogers is going to be returning the stones, does he travel back in time to give the stone back to Vision? He could also be visiting Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark before Vision was created, and warning him to protect the Time Stone, which would make sense.
This Nomad limited series is being produced for Disney+, and though we can report that Robert Downey Jr is returning, we are not sure if that means Chris Evans is as well. Evans and RDJ have both said goodbye to their characters, though that does not mean they wouldn’t be appearing in smaller MCU roles as those characters. Evans and RDJ teaming up for this time-traveling limited series would be the perfect way to bring them back one final time, assuming this is going to be the final time.
We did report that Robert Downey Jr wants a cameo in Spider-Man 4, though we are not sure how any of this is going to work considering Tony Stark is now dead. However, we are deep within the magic of the Multiverse, so we could be seeing a different timeline version of Tony Stark, that is still portrayed by RDJ. Either way, we are just happy to see RDJ returning to his best role.
