Ederson was left with egg on his face after telling Bukayo Saka where to put his equalising penalty for Arsenal against Manchester City.
The City shot stopper tried to play mind games with Saka after giving away the spot kick for a foul on Eddie Nketiah. He repeatedly pointed to his right, the bottom left corner of the goal, as referee Anthony Taylor blew his whistle.
Saka didn’t seem fazed, however, and rolled the ball into that exact spot while sending him the wrong way to level up the score at the Emirates after Kevin De Bruyne had given the visitors the lead.
Fans were in hysterics as they took to social media to rinse Ederson for his pen antics. One tweeted: “Ederson bro you’re embarrassing yourself.”
A second posted: “Ederson spent 45 seconds pointing to the direction just for Saka to put it exactly where he asked.” A third wrote: “The star boys shuts up Ederson nerves of steel, game on.”

“Saka’s a better man than me not celebrating in Ederson’s face and pointing to that corner,” commented a fourth. And a fifth said: “Mind games! Saka has really changed after that euro pk miss! Elite mentality.”

Another joked: “The plonker was pointing that way dives the other way.” And one slammed: “Ederson is actually so braindead.”

City’s keeper was perhaps fortunate to not receive a second yellow card for bringing down Nketiah for the pen. He’d already been booked by Taylor for time wasting as he was taking excessively long with goal kicks following De Bruyne’s opener.
But the decision to award the spot kick in the first place was questionable, with Nketiah already having got his shot off when Ederson collided with him. The effort had been cleared off the line before Taylor pointed to the spot.
